Mollo had an unfortunate start to life. At nine months old she was abandoned with the only collar she ever wore. Far too small, her skin needed somewhere to grow - it did that around the buckle of her collar.

No matter how often we see it, it never gets easier. We may never see justice for this girl, but we can make sure that her days are better starting now. After one month at our vets office in recovery and 3 more here with us at the shelter, we believe that we have taken her as far as we can and it's time for her to spread her wings.

Here's what we do know. Mollo is not an apartment dog. She is a free spirit who needs to live that way. Residential, busy streets, traffic and noise - that isn't Mollo's gig. She has gained quite the street smarts since she has lived on her own nearly her whole life. Her idea family will respect that and grow with her.

The ideal adopter will be ready to visit Mollo at the shelter consistently to develop a bond. Mollo has become a very routine girl who has begun to watch and protect her surroundings. As with all adoptions, we are prepared to check references and take her adoption very seriously. She will be spayed, up to date on vaccinations and microchipped prior to leaving the shelter. We have not observed Mollo around cats or farm animals. She gets along well with some dogs, but not all. Adult female dogs seem to trigger her. She will take on a teaching role with younger dogs when necessary. Children in the home must be respectful and considerate of her space.
