Mama Cass is waiting for her very best friend. But there is one condition, she can be your only best friend! (And really, she is all you need.)

As the oldest female of the group (vets estimate 5 years old) Mama Cass has been the matriarch of a large group that came to our shelter after being abandoned. We believe that she needs an opportunity to step down from that position and be the only dog in someone's life. While she does get along with some dogs, she is very picky about who she lets in.

People, on the other hand - all is fair! She loves men, women, children. She is (as far as we can tell) a lab/basset cross. Yes, it's adorable as it sounds! Although she's on those fantastic short basset legs, she is a powerful girl and loves to prove it when you lower yourself to love on her. She is great on a leash, loves to go for rides in the car, and loves meeting new people. When she first came to the shelter, many visitors remarked at how well she would do in a counselors or school office because she has a sort of calming quality about herself.

As the PAWS shelter only deals with dogs, we do not know how she feels about cats - although the property she came from had many farm animals and barn cats.

Mama Cass, like all of the dogs from this group has never had a home or family to call her own. We would love to be the ones who found that perfect life for her that she so deserves.
